I have only had beer and wings here. The wings are the best I have had in the area. Very good food, a little slow coming out of the kitchen, but worth the wait.

We were very disappointed in the Thirsty Turtle. The fried oysters were flavorless and mostly breading, and the Clam Linguine, while full of clams, was only okay- the sauce was too heavy and it just was average. We really wanted to like the Thirsty Turtle, but unfortunately, we didn't. Maybe we just ordered the wrong food?

Wow haven't this bad a service experience in some time. To start they completely forgot my order somewhere in between it being placed and making its way to the kitchen. The other three people in my party were served and I was left to have to answer the "what did you want again?" question. Poor. My meal did come out about twenty minutes later and I'm sorry it did quite frankly. My rice was undercooked and crunchy, and the veggies were overcooked and soggy. The blackened chicken was ok, but it's really hard to mess up grilling chicken. Even worse was not so much of even an effort to make good on completely screwing it up. Not even an apology. The wings everyone are raving about were ok, but I've had better. My guests enjoyed their fried seafood, but again nothing special. It's a decent watering hole but not much else.

I love this place. This is my 'comfort food' place. The wings are more addicting than crack.

Best. Chicken. Wings. Ever. These sweet, tangy, buttery, garlicky, chicken wings will overwhelm your senses. Once you sink your teeth into these succulent wings, the zing of their sauce will give your tastebuds a startling jolt. The skin is nice and crisp and the meat is tender and juicy. After you're done, you'll notice that there will be a thick coat of sauce over your forefinger and thumb and I promise you that you won't want to waste it on a paper napkin! I also highly recommend their steamed clams or a cup of clam chowder. I've also heard excellent things about their hamburgers. And I always find it refreshing to wash everything down with a frozen Rum Runner. YUM! The only downside of eating sweet, tangy, buttery, garlicky, chicken wings? You'll need tons of breath mints after.

We were on the way to another restaurant but were tired from driving a long distance. Saw the sign for the restaurant and knew it was on my list of restaurants to try in the area. No question, the best chicken wings we ever ate! The sauce was delicious. The angus burger was also very good. Will definitely be going back.

Great happy hour and outdoor seating. Can get very busy at dinner time. Live music. But too loud for the size of place

Very friendly staff and unbelievable wings. Good beer specials during happy hour also

the thirsty turtle has delicious fish. it's a lively place. yet, for a yank like me who likes to stuff himself into a stupor, the portions just aren't big enough for the price that we paid. ok, i guess i should quit complaining and exercise obsessively like everybody around the area.

It is what it is. And that is a local watering hole that has some good house specialties. Mainly the wings are the big attraction there. It's well deserved. The conch chowder is also excellent. Look, it's not a fancy place. It's just a fun local joint that has comfortable seating and lots of TV's for the game. The owner is die-hard Yankee fan so there is definitely an inordinate amount of Yankee memorabilia on the walls. I do get tired of looking at Yogi Berra and Joe DiMaggio pictures. The seating is very comfortable, large booths. When Crazy Finger is playing ( we call them Smelly Finger) its always fun as those guys have a very pleasing bluegrass based sound. They do a lot of Grateful Dead songs, but they do them well without all the lice heads spinning in circles everywhere. :-} We have seen some bad talent on stage there from time to time as well. The live music is hit or miss but it's always nice to have. You won't find a much more laid back local place than Thirsty Turtle. Go sit at the bar and chat up Joe the bartender, he's a pistol once you get him going.

  • Doug B.

Thirsty Turtle has some really really great food, cheap and cold beer, and wonderful live music. Their happy hour is one of the best values in the area, and the live entertainment (both in the form of the Crazy Fingers band and the cute beach girls) is exceptional. If you catch your own fish, they will cook it for you and serve it with sides for a reasonable price, beats doing the dishes.

First?!? Are you serious? I have to say the highlight of my time in Florida (from a food standpoint) has been the Thirsty Turtle. Weird name, absolutely incredible wings/food. So let me start off by saying that these have to be in the top three of best wings that i have ever had in my life. Yep....easy. And as I sit here trying to think of wings that were better, I honestly cant. So perhaps these are the best!? TT is a seafood bar that offers happy hour specials where they are pretty much giving the food away. I went out here with my god brother who loves food just as much, if not more than I do. TT was pretty packed, our service was stellar (although the food all came out at the same time---appetizers included), I actually welcomed all the fried goodness that was placed in front of me. I had been feenin' for some cracked conch (basically fried conch meat), and thirsty turtle delivered. I thought I was in heaven. The wings come in three flavors, mild, medium and hot. However they have a sauce base that consists of a honey garlic sauce that makes you want to slap somebody everytime you put one into your mouth. I have realized that I live/die for the "slap somebody" moment. The moment that food is so good, that you literally want to slap someone. I got that at the Thirsty Turtle. I got it good. Wings are $.35 during happy hour, mixed drinks are 2 bucks, and appetizers are on special too. YOu cant beat this spot,....period.

  • Paul G.

This joint consistently has the best burgers around, the best staff, in particular Joe at the bar, and the best live music. Oh, in case you have not heard, their wings are sick!

    (5)
  • Carl F.

I think their strength is the fresh fish. Don't need to go anywhere fancier for amazing fresh seared tuna. Not so good was the new england clam chowder (too thick) and the rice and beans side dish was on the salty side.

Okay, so after reading all the reviews raving about the wings at Thirsty turtle, I just had to try them. I've had wings at many places, and I'm proud to say that I make pretty good wings myself. I'm sorry to say that the wings at the Turtle are AVERAGE AT BEST. The service was fine, and the smoked fish dip was very good, but don't go to the Thirsty Turtle for great wings. If you're a wing aficionado, you'll be disappointed.

You have to try the French Onion Soup. It was unique and tasty.

Awesome wings. Unique sweet and spicy flavor. Come before 7 for happy hour, $.35 wings!

After reading the Yelp reviews we choose the Turtle for dinner because my wife loves wings and Yelp reviews said they were the best in the area. It was a Friday night and the place was bustling - had to wait about. 20 minute for the first table available. Service was great and the food came in a reasonable amount of time. We ordered their wings hot and their 1/2 # burger with onion rings. The wings were a big disappointment - 1 star or less. They use a ton of garlic for the heat and red sugar syrup to sweeten them up - YUCK! The burger turned out to be nothing special but a real challenge to eat because they stack a healthy load of lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on top of a small football size burger in a small bun. I have to say the rings were truly outstanding - large, sweet and cooked to perfection. Honestly, there are so many interesting place to catch a meal in the immediate area that I advise you to pick somewhere else. Oh yeah, they also had a lame 2 peace rock band that really was horrible.

Good Cheap Food is all i have to say you can go out and spend under $50.00 eat like as much as you can hold and drink until you cup runnith over............ the wings here are great i usually have the blackened Ma-hi, it comes with a side of veggies that's really nice too, coincidentally i always get the same waitress day or night so it seems that they have a steady work ethic. It is a good place to come after a long day at Juno Beach for a beer if you drink beer i don't, they have a full liquor bar and make stiff drinks i come here from time to time probably once every other month and its always good never had a bad experience

Ive been a frequent customer at Thirsty Turtle, up until about a month ago. I used to go every wednesday night when the band The Grass is Dead played. (a grateful dead tribute band). Well to make a long story short, the customer service and the food had gone downhill. The wing sauce is the only thing good there now. the wing went from these harty big ass thick wings to these little pieces of meat that they call wings. all the waitresses all walk around with a pissed off look on their face. it used to be fun. I now go to harry and the natives up in hobe sound. their wings are literally twice as big as turtle wings. and everybody is alot nicer their, its a laid back surfer typ of place.

    (1)

I love the Turtle. Great bar food (burgers, wings) and big helpings of fresh seafood. How can you go wrong?

  • Sona B.

I used to drive up to this joint from Miami for the wings. They have a laid back beach and sports bar type attitude and a little counter in the front with some fresh products. No big deal, but I'm kind of wing connoisseur. These are definitely up in my list of wing honorees. Once again, it's all about the sauce, with its chunky texture of minced garlic and red pepper flakes in a thick goey mess of amazingess. It's delicious. I'd drink this sauce if I wasn't afraid of what my friends would think of me. I purposely get my fingers covered in it so I can delight in licking it off later. This being said, the wings themselves are fried, crunchy, and a bit on the small side. But with 35 cent wings during happy hour, who's complaining? Draft specials help wash these yummy wings down. Can't say the staff is exemplary, but most experiences have been good. Haven't had much of the other food, so can't help you out there. However, you definitely can't miss with the wings!

my boy, cabeza de huevo, brought me here saying the wings were the truth. i agree. i haven't had anything else on the menu, though.

Service is a little slow, but the fish tacos are second to none. One order comes with 3 tacos and will easily feed 2 people. My son had pasta alfedo with chicken that was so-so.

We come to the thirsty turtle at least once a week. We love the fact that it is dog friendly since we usually come straight from the beach. If you sit outside ask for Wyatt. We always get the best service from him and he is usually seen helping other tables that aren't his. The bald manager is really nice but don't put him in a position where he has to make a business decision. Once we requested our burger cooked more well done (granted my girlfriend want s it like a hockey puck) he said we need to be more specific when we order and blamed it on us. We decided to keep the burger uneaten rather than seek a further solution of getting the order as we like it. Several time we have ordered a raw hotdog for our dog and were charged 2-3 bucks, no problem. The last time we ordered we were told by the manager we would have to pay the full 4.95 price which included buns and fries. We didnt fight, just won't order again and thought twice about coming back. Were not opposed to paying a mark up but come on, take care of your regulars. Still love the place and hightly recommend it.

#3-4 better each visit! Service is always great! I have been going for the specials and seafood items and have been very happy. I had thought of it as a burger wing spot but that was a mistake. Go for seafood. #2 much better food today! We had the wings done extra crispy and medium instead of mild. The cracked conch was tender but bland till you use the dipping sauce, yum! Service was great as usual. So from 1st review I'm bumping the food up to a 3 and service a 4. Fun spot. The items in the case up front looked fresh, maybe that's what I need to pick from next time.

Whenever people mention Jupiter, North Palm Beach or Palm Beach Gardens, the a Thirsty a Turtle is one of the first places I feel compelled to tell them about. I know it's no secret, yet I know plenty of people that have driven by it without even giving it a wink. I kind of get it, but if they knew what was hiding right beneath their noses they'd be regulars in a heartbeat! This unassuming spot is tucked into the back corner of a non-descript shopping center right on the main drag in Juno Beach. The interior feels like a mashup of old Florida, with walls covered in driftwood panelling, and a modern sports bar, but the menu says a great local bar by the sea! It had been more than 8 years since my last visit to the a Thirsty Turtle, but some things in life never change. I mean that in the best way possible because this spot is a classic and should remain that way forever. I your the chicken wings as the best I've ever had, and after this recent visit I've converted my wife to this school of thought too. These wings are crispy, golden, juicy, and coated in an amazing tangy, garlicky slightly spicy and sweet sauce that haunts my memories! Back in the day, as a young professional on a serious budget, I came for the wings alone, always wanting to order some of the deliciously fresh seafood in the case. This recent visit I got to try it, ordering some blackened grouper. I feel like I got the wrong cut because the fish was thin and somewhat dry, but had the freshness you expect when eating seafood in FL. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Turtlen got a few updates in the past years, including some new TVs, outside tables and fans, plus a selection of craft beer, none of which took anything away from the charm of this wonderful little local restaurant. If you ask me, the Turtle was perfect the way it was, but while the decorations on the wall and the tables and chairs may have changed just a bit, I'm happy to say it's still the same place I fell in love with years ago, and a place Id come back to anytime I'm in the area.

I've been here 2 other times and never had the poor service and food like I did today. My boyfriend and I ordered steamed clams to start which took an upwards of 10 minutes to get to the table after ordering. We also ordered 1 bowl of soup which was nowhere in sight. After 15 minutes had passed after finishing our clams we were finally able to get our server's attention who informed us our entrees were coming out shortly. My boyfriend asked what had happened to the soup and the server was surprised it had not come (yet he didn't notice that it wasn't on the table) and asked if we still wanted it. Of course we did. So out it came along with our food. We ordered the buffalo chicken sandwiches and the meat was so tough it was disgusting. We told our server and he asked if we wanted to send mine back but I had already devoured the onion rings so I suggested just telling the chef about it. Normally I would expect a comp of some som sort but that wasn't the case which is pretty annoying considering the aforementioned occurrences of this dining experience. Overall: long wait times, carelessness, and lousy food this time around. Probably won't be back.

My 2 yr old summed it up: "That's the best dinner ever." Reviews led us to the wings with homemade sauce - super good. I'm a New England Clam Chowder connoisseur and it may have been the best I've had. Perfectly creamy, fresh clams, small potato pieces, and not overly herbed. My husband can't remember the last time I used 'awesome' to describe a bowl. The coconut shrimp had the best orange pineapple sauce. Dessert - The Turtle Egg is peanut butter gelato around caramel with chocolate shell on top. It was a great end to this incredibly satisfying dinner. We will be going back regularly.

I tried going to the thirsty turtle with friends after a sea turtle interaction and was told the kitchen was closed. An hour before closing. How long do wings take? 10 minutes? Really? I will get my wings elsewhere from now on. And I suggest you do the same.

Had wings and beer with long lost family members. WIngs were excellent and the servers were on top of their game. Plenty of TVs and sporting events. Had a wide variety of local craft beers and specials that began at 3 PM.

The Thirsty Turtle is definitely a very good overall restaurant . My uncle Daniel had a Philly Cheesesteak and he rated it 7/10, it was a little soft and cheesy. (Literally cheesy) My mother had a Mahi Sandwich and rated it 8/10. My poppy had the burger and will have the shits later tonight. My Aunt Leslie thought that her fried oysters were great. I thought that my Coconut Shrimp had to much coconut and i could taste more coconut then shrimp. The wings are incredible. Can't go wrong with that. My loving brother thoroughly enjoyed his stinger sandwich. The restraunt has a great atmosphere and has amazing service.

  • Jim H.

Excellent wings prepared a bit differently than usual with plenty of garlic and honey enhanced homemade sauce. This is not bottled sauce or their version of a bottle sauce, it's so good it's habit forming. I was warned that there is no need to order them crispy as that's exactly how they come out. We also ordered onion rings which are made in house and were good but not exceptional in anyway. Some of the sandwiches and platters others were having looked huge! Nice happy hour with many bottle and draught beers.

This place left a lot to be desired. They were pretty inflexible with altering the dishes, even though I told her they could charge me more. I feel that it's a bit arrogant for the chef to think their way is the only way. I ended up ordering a seafood combo with coconut shrimp and fried scallops. For $18 I got 4 coconut shrimp and 3 sea scallops with side of pasta and Alfredo and sweet potato mash. Everything was warm but by no means hot. The coconut shrimp and scallops did have great flavor and the pasta was good while it was still warm. The service was decent but I wouldn't rush back.

This place is a hit and miss for me. I walked in the last time and no one greeted us. I stood around with my kids for about 5 mins before someone came by. There must have been 5 waitresses that walked by us without saying a word. I ordered the philly cheese steak and it was just not good at all. The amount of cheese on the sub was too much and the raw veggies was not good. I ordered a firecracker shrimp tacos to go and they were great!! I'll give this place another try.

I've been coming to the Thirsty Turtle since the 90's. It's way more crowded now than it's ever been. The food is definitely great, but I have two complaints that arise from my two most recent visits there. I ordered two separate beers and both were near flat. The CO2 needed to be changed out and they weren't doing it. The service at the bar left a lot to be desired. We sat down and we're ready to order and the bartender must've helped 5 other people that say down after us before taking our food/drink order. This isn't someplace I go once a year. I'm almost a regular, and this shouldn't happen.

The best! The best onion rings we've ever had, the best clam chowder (so creamy and deliciou), and the best wings. My date, (a chicken wing connoisseur) said "these are simply the best wings I've ever had!" Priced right and the service was friendly. In an age where every restaurant has the same bland offerings, The Thirsty Turtle offers a singularly exquisite dining experience. I'll be back!

  • Albano S.

My girlfriend and I are usually fans of the Thirsty Turtle, but this last time we went might possibly be our actual last time there. We sat outside and were the only ones out there besides a couple other people at the bar. If you are not familiar with the set up, the outside has several televisions. We asked our server to change only one of the TVs for us to watch something and she responded that she would ask her manager. When she came back she told us that her manager laughed at us for asking..... I would understand a simple no, we felt very unwelcomed and mistreated. When the food came my quesadilla had burnt chicken that was very tough to chew and my girlfriend's tuna salad was so bland and tasteless she had to send it back. It's a shame we had this bad experience because we thought we found our new weekend spot, but there is no point in spending my money where it is not appreciated.

Love me some Thirsty Turtle! I've been coming here & bringing out of town guests here since 1998. My review is for my last visit which was in April 2015. Service is great, food ( wings & steamed clams in my case! ) is always consistent & wonderful! Only complaint is that me & fiancé both prefer the "drums" when ordering chicken wings. We do not mind paying extra for "drums only" upon request. They do not do this here anymore :( So we ordered anyway 30 wings and literally received 4 drums in our mix. It is what it is....but just giving a heads up! :)

It's a nice little place and I like the atmosphere. Love the outside bar and the bar service is great. Food is pretty good but table service was bad. The waitress was non-attentive and borderline rude. We had to ask multiple times for sides and food requests. Will be back but will just have drinks at the outside bar.

We have been on the search to find a fun restaurant in the Jupiter area that is decent and doesn't have an hour wait (like Guanabanas and u-tiki). We have been to Thirsty Turtle twice in the past month and we like this fun small spot. Our first visit was on a Friday and we thought it would get really busy since it was nice out, so we got there early at 5:30pm. We got the last indoor table and we're glad we did because the wait started to get long after that. We liked that they had happy hour prices. My husband got an order of wings and side of fries, and I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. We both wanted to try buffalo stuff because of the reviews. While we both agreed the sauce was good, worth having again, it is kind of weird if you're used to regular buffalo flavor like we are. It's almost like a sweet and sour sauce. The second time we visited was last night. It wasn't very busy since it was storming out, which was nice. We enjoyed the dinner rolls this time. I had the firecrack shrimp tacos and my husband had the buffalo chicken sandwhich. In my opinion, I would get the tacos over the buffalo chicken on my next visit! the shrimp tasted just like Bonefish Grille's bang bang shrimp! Delicious! My main note would be that I find their portions to be huge, so keep that in mind when ordering!

I frequently visit Thirsty Turtle in Juno whenever I am in the area to watch an evening sporting game. We usually sit at the bar where Joe usually works. The restaurant resembles a beach sporting bar with a very layback feel. I usually order grill fish on a salad or the grouper sandwich and steam clams to start. On my recent visit, our bartender Joe recommended the Fish Sliders which were a special at $9.95. Very good choice by Joe, thank you. There are many sports bar in the area and it is all about where you feel comfortable and not necessarily about the food. Thirsty Turtles works for me.

We just stopped in for drinks after a Cardinals spring raining game. The atmosphere is great, service was good and the bartender was friendly. We didn't eat however started getting hungry after smelling everyone else's food, it looked good as well. Will definitely be back to eat!

We went to the Thirsty Turtle the other day for lunch. It was a Sunday afternoon and all the football fans were there, a little rowdy. We got some wings and their spinach artichoke dip and a couple beers. The wings are great, not the traditional buffalo sauce, they are on the sweet side. The spinach artichoke dip was more of a cheese dip speckled with spinach, not complaining! It wasn't what I'd call a spinach artichoke dip, but it was really really good! We expected to order more food, but we were stuffed after that! We would definitely go back. Great food and inexpensive.

The buffalo sauce is different than the "typical" orange sauce you are used to, but MAN is it good. I love the clam chowder, buffalo chicken sandwich, and fries. Also, they have a good blue cheese dressing (I'm a connoisseur...lol). Always a fun new craft beer selection. Good, friendly service (except occasionally the bartender isn't that friendly...but prob because he is busy). Just wish it was closer to my house!

This is our "go to place" for wings & beer. Great happy hour. I love so many things on the menu. Fried shrimp & oysters. Always great service in a fun casual atmosphere. You can't go wrong stopping by here, but there is usually a wait during dinner hours. It's worth the wait.

I was surprised that my buddy chose to go here because I had gone to thirsty turtle with my uncle many years ago to cook our own catch. I agree with all who say that the wings are bomb, they are much better than average bar wings. The rest of the food however was less than spectacular. I was gonna keep it simple and get tacos but the waiter enticed me with his description of stuffed mahi mahi. It wasn't awful but it also wasn't very good and certainly was not worth $25. My friend was also enticed by a special only to find out the waiter had described it wrong and when he thought he was getting pasta with shrimp it was really pasta with chicken. Overall the lesson here is what you see is what you get, a divey locals bar that does a couple things well but don't get too creative with your order.

I have been a customer for many years and unfortunately I won't be anymore. I have NEVER been treated so rudely by a manager in my life. Ron needs a real lesson in customer service. I'll be sure to spread the word about how I was treated!

The best wings that I have found in the treasure coast so far, that is true. A bit unconventional as far as the sauce goes; as it was not the traditional Buffalo sauce, but rather a sweet chili sauce. But as we had asked for our wings to be extra crispy, they stood up well to the sweet chili sauce they were bathed in. Very good - yes. But not the gold standard either. Service on the other hand was outstanding.

I have been going to the Thirsty Turtle since the late eighties. Clam chowder is stellar. Love the wing sauce. A great combo of sweet and spicy. It's like a neighborhood bar with good seafood and sandwiches. I have never been disappointed.

Great beach bar. Amazing wings! The sauce is to die for. Ordered medium hot wings and a quesadilla which was also very delicious. I would eat here every day if I lived in town. Service was prompt and atmosphere was relaxed and casual.

Chicken wings are amazing- with their special sauce are the best wings I have had!!! Ever!!! I'm so impressed. I love small local places to go when I'm on vacation. I can recommend this place enough. Is a sea food bar so nothing fancy but the food is better than most expensive places.

A great bar! Nothing fancy, just great bar food and good service. They were pet friendly on the patio which was an added bonus. They also had live music. A great place to unwind with friends.

The hubs and I came across Thirsty Turtle by accident a while ago on our way home from the beach. I can tell when a restaurant is good by a packed parking lot; Thirsty Turtle's was the equivalent of standing room only. We've been back a couple times since and I have to say it is a local gem. A seafood sports bar with a beach feel, it has all your ocean favorites. They have a great selection of tap and local brews, last night I went with a favorite, Blue Moon and the hubs had a Corona. We both ordered coconut shrimp which is the first thing I tried on their menu the first time there. It comes with two sides of your choice and a really good orange marmalade sauce. The coconut shrimp were just as tasty last night as the first with a golden color and delicious coconut crunch. My husband has tried the fish tacos which were also very good and the calamari is a stand out as well. Friday and Saturday night there is live music and plenty of tvs to keep up with your favorite team. We are really glad we tried Thirsty Turtle. It's a local gem that's a local's favorite.

The Thirsty Turtle has the best chicken wings I've ever tasted! The Reuben sandwich, burgers, fish tacos and all seafood dishes are delicious. Casual atmosphere and pleasant waitstaff.

Really great chicken wings and cold beer. Great local joint.

I once liked going to the thirsty turtle for a drink on the back deck. It seems now they have turned it into a makeshift bark park. If you enjoy hanging out with 6-10 dogs and their annoying owners - this is the place for you. Don't go on a windy day as you will likely end up with dog hair in your wings. The waitress was excellent and very attentive, however.

Okay so as a local I really like thirsty turtle. There wings are def worth 4stars. However. The fish tacos are horrible. They should be taken off the menu. Served with cheap cheese, melted which makes the soft taco tortillas soggy and oily. They were huge. I had them upgrade the fish from haddock to grouper which was 2.00. Fair but overall made my lunch cost 17.92 and with a 2.00 tip I paid $20 for lunch. I'll spend my money elsewhere next time I was fish tacos. They should make them smaller or stick to wings. The waiter "trey" was super friendly. Asked if I wanted a to go drink. Good job trey. Delete the tacos tho or name then nasty fish burritos. Serve sweet tea!

I used to like this place but have had some service issues lately. I always hate to see a formerly good hangout go down hill. I'm going to skip this place for a while and hope they turn it around. I recommend you do the same.

I knew we were in trouble once I saw the new menus, which always means price increases. No more $.50 wings during happy hour but the wings are usually very good. They're not your standard buffalo, its a honey garlic that's very good! Also had the clam chowder and shrimp tacos which are good too. Unfortunately the wings this last time were ok, bit on the soggy side and they drowned the fish tacos with too much sauce. Guess it depends who's in the kitchen.

I'm always an advocate for local places, but not in this case. Although the wings may taste pretty great, the service has been repetitively lack luster. Not surprising, considering the manager is completely manner less. I often try to refrain from ordering take out for the sole purpose of avoiding contact with him. Well, I have a pot luck lunch I'm attending in Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow, and since I really do like the wings, I thought they would be great to bring. I decided to call Thirsty Turtle to place my order early (at 6 for an 8:30 pick up) since I knew I'd be ordering high volume. Just wanting to be considerate of their time... What's the harm, right? From hearing the manager's reaction, I was horribly mistaken. After condescendingly laughing at me and telling me that I'd have to wait to call at 8 to order (which I'm at work, by the way), he quotes me the price. He says "It's going to be 40 plus for 50 wings. Okay, so I'll hear from you then." Click. Ummm, that's 80 cents per wing... Not in this effing lifetime, buddy. Going to JJ Mugg's instead!!

I've been going to the Thirsty Turtle for wings for almost 10 years now! The sauce is deliciously addicting-- unlike any other wings! They're spicy and sweet! I recommend getting a basket of fries and dipping them in the to-die-for wing sauce.

Ok, I'll settle on a 4, but the only real reason to come here is for the wings. Everything else here is just alright...except those wings. I think (I KNOW) my boyfriend wanted to drink the sauce. It was alarming. Came in on a Friday night around 7:30 and had to wait around 15 minutes for a table, not bad at all. They have a nice outdoor porch area where you can wait with a beer. We were seated at a high table near the bar and our waitress was very attentive the entire time. She had a great sense of humor and was very friendly. They have an interesting beer list with some local options, which we both enjoyed. We shared an order of wings and the shrimp and scallop combo. The shrimp and scallops were plainly fried; good, but nothing special. I asked for redskin potatoes on the side and it basically came with three small boiled potatoes, this was a little disappointing. While we weren't thrilled with this half of our order, the wings are phenomenal. Definitely the reason to come to the Thirsty Turtle. Their sauce has a kick and is incredibly flavorful, my boyfriend was dipping anything and everything on the table in the leftover sauce. The fries that came with were a great accompaniment. Overall, the Thirsty Turtle is definitely a Jupiter staple: homey and full of character. I'd definitely suggest stopping in for some wings and beer if you're in the area!

I really enjoy the wings here, the grouper sandwich, and the tacos! They are pet friendly and were so kind to my dog when we brought him.

My family and I went to this place during my husband's spring vacation. It gets very crowded with live music, a billiard table, TVs, outdoor patio seating, and some arcade games. The food takes a while to arrive but it's made fresh so patience is a virtue. When you enter the restaurant, the first thing you will see is the display of seafood next to the hostess stand. The full liquor bar is right behind the hostess stand. It's a little dark in there but you can still see your food, the menu, and the rest. The price ranges from $5-20. If you cannot wait in line (which is about 30-35 min), you can call ahead and order your food to go. My husband got the veggie burger loaded with everything. Needless to say, it got super soggy with all the toppings and it fell apart. Still tasty though. I got the coconut shrimp salad. It was a huge salad about the size of a dinner plate but it's a bowl. Huge pieces of shrimp with walnuts, orange pieces, and Gorgonzola cheese. Delish. The kids ordered their chicken tenders with fries. It was a big portion that we had to get a box for the kids. For dessert, the kids shared the turtle egg which is caramel covered in peanut butter gelato covered in a firm milk chocolate shell with vanilla ice cream next to it and the whole thing drizzled in a peanut butter syrup. I ordered the coco-cola cake. I never had it before so I tried it. This was like a red velvet cake mixed with coke. It was a dark colored cake with a chocolate frosting served with vanilla ice cream. Yum-Yummy! If you drink socially, this would be an ideal place to try out their unique mixed drinks. Mind you that most of them are sweet so if you're not into those, have your waiter/waitress recommend a more balanced taste. If you like to drink your dessert, the bar can make a drink version of their dessert menu.

As I sit here I will write this, the food is good but as for the service it SUCKS!!! Our waitress actually spoke to me as if I were an idiot. She served two tables that arrived and sat way after us, and really only cared about her costume. She was dressed as a vampire, wow hope her makeup does not leak in my food after she touched it with her hand that keeps running through her hair. As you can tell I'm quit annoyed. As for the hostess when asked if we even had a waitress, it took her quite some time to answer yes... She first said I Don't Know! WOW!!!!!

We were kind of expecting this place to be a bit of a dive but it's been around so long that we thought we'd check it out anyways. Whoa - the food is really good! They had a bunch of fish that they were featuring because it was fresh (I had the Wahoo and my wife had Cobia). What a cool spot - we'll definitely be back. It's like a dive bar with really good food.

5 Stars - for the wings! Everything else was mediocre but the wings are worth the trip! Sauce is good, the crunchy and lovely fried texture is what makes them fab!!!! Service wasn't anything to write home about. But the wings.... Can't beat them. Without the wings, I'd skip it. We go for the wings!

  • Jaclyn C.

The food here was not bad. The wings were good also ordered coconut shrimp and it was not bad, but the service was awful. Our server Annie never spoke to us. She spoke to a table next to us (which wasn't her table) almost the entire time we ate but never spoke a kind word in our direction. We said thank you several times including when she brought out our check but she didn't even say your welcome or anything else for that matter, like we were nothing more than an inconvenience.

If I could give 10 Stars for the wings I would! Unconditionally, the best wings that I have ever had! I had the wings last night and I just had them again for lunch. I may come back again tonight for dinner. Yes, they are truly that good!

We came here for a surprise birthday party for a long time friend of ours. All of us sat around the bar and had a happy hour before we made our way to the back. The drinks are cheap and good. The covered outside patio area was nice to enjoy and sit back while enjoying some good food and company. The restaurant was able to sit everyone together and accommodate the group with ease. The nachos were ok for the appetizer we got. I wish the cheese was soft instead of melted hard on the chips. Some places get it right and some don't. The veggie burger I got was huge. I couldn't finish all of it and I enjoyed the experience.

They cook your fish for you! If you go fishing that day- bring your fish here and they will cook it for you - fried, blackened or grilled. And you get to pick you side dishes. But if you come here- YOU MUST have the wings. OH MY GOODNESS- they have heaven and I am not a wing woman. This place is a local watering hole- complete with wooden tables and groups of causal eating families. The BEST wings I have ever placed in my mouth and my football loving, wing eating husband agrees!

    (5)
  • Jonathan G.

Well, it's not just hype about their wings! The best that I've ever had! This is definitely a local watering hole type joint / sports bar. The wait staff is attentive and pleasant. I had wings as an appetizer and then fried oysters for an entree. As stated, the wings are phenomenal! The fried oysters were perhaps a bit over fried but not bad. I would definitely go back. As a matter of fact, I'm trying to decide if I should go back tomorrow night just for wings! Yes, they are that good! P.S. I did go for a second night of wings. Wow!

I consider my self a wing enthusiast and the thirsty turtle has some of the best wings I have ever had! That being said they also have a pretty good clam chowder. That also being said it is defiantly a dive bar but that is also one of the things I love about the place.

    (5)
  • Rachel P.

The best hot wings I've ever had. And I'm not a big fan of hot wings either. They are SO perfectly spicy with the flavors of hot sauce, ginger and garlic. Other than the wings, I love Thirsty Turtle's fish tacos, their fried mushrooms and their homemade soups, especially the New England Clam Chowder (an indulgence worth the calories!) Cozy, beach bar atmosphere and friendly wait staff. I love this bar (and I'm not a big fan of bars)!

  • Ted K.

Cold beeerz and pretty damn good wings. Not the best that I've ever had, but they are GOOD - I'll put them up with 2 or 3 of my favorites back home. I'd come back just for those garlicy, honey/chilied wings any day of the week. Everything else is pretty pedestrian and again - a heavy price tag on fish sandwiches. Wings baby....and cold beerz. That's heaven to this writer.

Best drink specials I have found so far, stopped here with our dogs on the way back from the beach, had $3 margaritas on the rocks.... Who could ask for anything more. We also had the nachos and they were delish, they didn't skip on the toppings.... Loved that we could bring out dogs we will be back!

  • Stephen N.

First of all, Rachel is one of the best waitresses who has served me - ever. Attentive, friendly, knowledgable - I can't say enough. Especially after other Florida experiences. On top of that the blue cheese burger was just as good as they say, and the special wings a new twist that's hard to get by a boy from Buffalo. Great spot. Only wish you could see the ocean, but in a trade off I would rather eat there and walk to the fricken beach!

  • Lauren P.

Service is awful! An older lady waited on our table. Never greeted us with a hello. Never told us specials and looked like she didn't even want to be there. It was during lunch time and was not very busy. We were never asked how our food was, ( that was the only good thing about the place ) and she gave us boxes and a check as if we were taking up space. Great food. Awful service.

All in how you deal with a customer, after the order has an issue. Manager should respond and take ownership, make it right. They did and it will cause us to continue to go there.!

Love this place for the laid-back beach atmosphere and their fish tacos. Bartenders are cool and take really good care of the bar diners. The draft beer is really cold and the wings are legendary. That is a tough combo to beat. Joey or Ron behind the bar are friendly and will let you know which fish dish to order on any given day. A fun crowd (family oriented) is usually on hand Wed-Sunday. A great place to take in a game while escaping the heat...a go-to place for me.

    (4)
  • Neil H.

Average....mediocre and overpriced. The fresh fish is not fresh. The portions are small and the prices are in line with four and five star seafood restaurants. The kitchen which is in direct view is dirty. The crowd looks like the red neck Riviera. If you like chicken wings and a longneck Bud this one's for you.

BEST WINGS EVER! I have been to many places for wings, but these are the tastiest by far. They soak their wings in a special sauce with garlic that result in the wettest wings you will ever taste--get extra napkins and order a pitcher of your favorite brew. They also have excellent sandwiches, but unfortunately they stop serving sandwiches at 4pm. Happy hour lasts until 6pm everyday which includes pitchers of selected beers and discount prices on wings and steamers. We often order extra wings to take home.

  • Stacie M.

Omg the chicken wings are quite honestly the best I've ever had!!! Staff were polite and friendly, service was quick and the food is an alright price. We went on Wednesday night which is regge night I really enjoyed the music but the middle aged people in our group thought it was too loud....... Moral of the story don't take old people out after 9pm hahaha. Can't wait to come on holiday again for more chicken wings lol.

  • Brad B.

I give this place 5 stars. There was no wait on a weekend night, the seafood was excellent and was not too expensive either. But the best part was the service. Our waitress, Rosalyn, was so knowledgable about all the specials and could answer all of our questions. She was also very attentive and made the meal just that much more enjoyable.

  • Kenneth P.

The other reviews do not lie, the chicken wings are amazing. As of late I've been leaning towards sauceless wings, as some establishments drench the wings in sauce and it loses that crispiness, but these wings had a crunch till the very last wing. I ordered the hot and was expecting hot, but it wasn't that hot. More med-hot than anything; but that may just be me as I enjoy spicy food. Now the sauce had this tangy zing that was just amazing. I did order it extra crispy, so I can't really comment on the regular method they use. I also ordered the Shrimp and Scallops combo and it was very good. The deep fried shrimp was amazing but I can't say the same for the scallops. Wish they provided me a different dipping sauce for the scallops than cocktail & tarter, it just didn't work with the scallops in my opinion. Give this place a try, definitely recommend the wings. Its $0.50/wing during happy hour.

Great sports bar with THE BEST WINGS! You must have their WINGS! I've had to wait an hour to get a table but it's worth the wait!

Chicken wings were amaaazing. Super crispy and drenched in the sweet garlicky sauce. I've tried all three of their soups and my favorite was the New England Clam Chowder. Hard to mess that up! Creamy and full of potatoes and clams. Conch chowder was a thinner soup, spicier with bell peppers, tomatoes. French Onion was heavier tasting with bread and thick gratin of cheese on top. I did not care much for the conch fritters or fried oysters, the batter seemed underseasoned and bland. Also I really enjoyed their Philly cheese steak whereas my boyfriend did not care for it. A ton of melted cheese on top of the meat and onions on a kaiser roll, yum!

Lunch date with my man during work hours led us to the Turtle. It's a bar atmosphere and old florida charm. There is outside seating but it was hot so we chose inside. It was clean and the staff was attentive and friendly. We had the Mexican salad which was large with full size bacon pieces in it, tossed in Italian dressing with ranch around the top. The chicken was a tad dry but the sale was good. I had firecracker shrimp tacos with a side of fresh guacamole. I have to say I was surprised at how delicious it was, most bars don't have good food. I recommend trying this if your ever in the Jupiter area! Also there are alot of tvs here for sports.

Great food, great lunch specials. Did take some time for our food to come out. Waitress was friendly. Will have to try their wings next time I go. They get pretty busy
